Let me ask you, have you ever heard a song that instantly took you back to a treasured moment from your past? Ever stood in awe as you watched snow falling or the sun setting over the horizon? Have you ever picked up the scent of something that transported you back in time? Tasted something that instantly comforted you with its familiarity?
I can feel you nodding with me now. It feels good, doesn’t it? Does this reflection inspire you to watch the sunset this evening, find that memorable song on Spotify, or order a candle with that signature scent you love? If so, you’ve just successfully completed your first exercise in the Art of Northing™.

What is the Art of Northing™?
The term northing came to me at a time when I felt the need to keep moving forward with intention while surrounded by uncertainty. Inspired by an internal compass, a true north if you will, I began exploring ways I could bring comfort and peace into our lives when everything else felt out of place. By doing so, I discovered easy practices that made our home feel like a haven, our time together anticipated and valued, and self-care rituals that renewed what the state of the world was stripping away. This became what I call the Art of Northing.
We all have an internal compass. One that guides us naturally, in how we feel comfort at home, how we entertain and welcome others and how we care for ourselves and the ones we love most. Through reflection, you will begin to discover how stimulating your senses can evoke personal response, memory, or emotion. The practice of northing is to recognize these responses and adjust your environment accordingly with intention with 9 easy to apply steps, called the Northing Co. 9. Once used, you will see how small details make a significant impact and begin to naturally curate a way of living that’s intuitive and authentic to you.
If you’d like to learn more about how to develop and recognize your own intuitive and authentic style I would love the opportunity to help you do just that! You can explore current offerings here!
